Naturally Tan by Tan France

This was one of the videos we did for Target stores. It’s played over a huge collection of 8 HDTV monitors(4×2). This setup can be tricky at times as any normal video occupies the center 4 screens, and the book will be on the left and right as bookends.

Tan France is one of the starts of the show Queer Eye. We had received some footage from the author himself promoting the book, but he shot it in portrait mode, which isn’t what we normally use. If I shrunk it to one screen, it didn’t have the same impact, and it looked very “talking head”. Using the 8 monitor format, I decided it would work if his footage occupied two screens vertically, we could then see the whole video as he intended..

I used color screens animating in to mask and reveal the clips and have the text appear in between. It turned out really well.
