Big Lies in a Small Town by Diane Chamberlain

This cover had a painting-on-canvas look to it. I found a good stock photo of a canvas to use as a background. I then recreated the blues, using a video mask, a black and white video of a brush-swipe painting along horizontally. I timed the strokes of the mask to flow with the music, revealing the silhouettes on the top and bottom.

Then filling in the whole thing before the book shot fades in and the background fading to white to reveal the complete book on the canvas.
